Safe Access tests

Safe Access ships with more than 1800 tests and checks. The table below lists the high level tests, each of which may contain multiple sub-checks that ensure the endpoint is truly compliant. For example, the "McAfee Enterprise VirusScan 8.5i" test not only verifies the software is installed, it also:

  • Checks for the appropriate entries in the registry and file system
  • Verifies the software is actually running
  • Verifies the real-time service is running
  • Verifies the most recent .dat file is installed
  • Checks that a virus scan has been recently run
Multiple tests are combined into access policies, which are applied to devices as they connect to the network. New tests are automatically incorporated into the test set when new threats are identified. Tests are developed, quality controlled, and made available by the StillSecure Security Alert Team.
